No. Contrail is a product prototype. Flights, fares, seat availability and payments are simulated, no money moves and no ticket is issued. You can try the whole journey with the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 and any future expiry date.

Fares are checked again just before payment. If the price moved while you were choosing, the new total is shown and you confirm it before anything is charged.

Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Some card payments ask for a one time code from your bank, which is simulated here too.

Every booking is in My trips, and you can look one up with its six character reference, which is in your confirmation.

20 minutes. A timer at the top of the checkout shows the time left. If it runs out, the seats are released for other travellers and you can choose again.

Yes. Switch to Seat map at the top of the seat picker. It shows the same seats as buttons, works with a keyboard and screen readers, and stays in step with the 3D cabin.

Yes, until you check in. Open the trip in My trips and choose Change seats. A dearer seat costs the difference, and moving to a cheaper one is not refunded.

Exit rows are kept for adults who can help in an emergency and who are not travelling with an infant.

You get a free seat when you check in. Travellers on the same booking are seated together where a row allows.

Every fare includes a personal item that fits under the seat. Cabin and checked bags depend on the fare, and the trip page lists the allowance for each flight.

Open the trip in My trips and choose Add bags. Bags added online cost less than at the airport.

Power banks and spare batteries go in cabin bags only. Liquids in cabin bags must be in containers of 100 ml or less. Flammable items, compressed gas and weapons are not allowed.

It depends on the fare. The trip page shows the change fee for each flight, and you pay any difference in fare. Fares that cannot be changed can still be cancelled.

Refundable fares return to the original payment method, minus any cancellation fee. Non-refundable fares return the airport taxes and charges. Refunds usually take 7 to 10 days.

Names cannot be changed after tickets are issued. Small spelling fixes are handled by the airline at the airport.

48 hours before departure, and it closes an hour before. Check in from My trips.

After check-in it is in My trips under Boarding passes. Show the code on your phone or print it.

Yes. Choose who is checking in on the first step. Anyone whose passport has a problem can check in at the airport desk instead.
